CLASS SONG.
"MARMOR ARTISTA-STATUA."
ELEVENTH ANNUAL
Commencement
Can it be that we are parting,
Parting from our mates so dear,
And each one this eve is starting,
From the paths diverging here?
Must we leave these times behind us,
Leave them now forevermore?
In these places now you'll find us,
Nevermore, nevermore.
Ah! will those who patient brought us,
O'er our school life's rugged way,
And so carefully have taught us-
Will they miss us? Can we say?
Oh! they nevermore shall guide us,
As they did in days of yore,
And o'er stormy waters tide us,
Nevermore, nevermore.
Such it seems is Fate's decision,
And we all, as best we may,
Will fulfill our earthly mission
Till that bright, eternal day,
When we all shall be united
On that bright and happy shore,
When each one shall dwell delighted,
Evermore, evermore.
