Description
This folder contains correspondence from multiple individuals. Victor Duran's 1919 correspondence with Henry Skinner is centered around his research on the androconia or scent scales of 18 Lycaeninae species. Charles Dury's correspondence mentions his work with the beetle genus, Diabrotica, specifically Diabrotica dorsata. In 1903, Dury spent almost 7 weeks in Brownsville, Texas collecting a variety of insects and noted a scarcity in Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera, and Diptera.
Quintin A. Eala was the acting chief of the Scientific Library of the Philippines Department of Agriculture and Commerce's Bureau of Science. His 1946 letter to the editor of Entomological News requested a donation of previous Entomological News materials to rebuild the library's collections that were destroyed during World War 2 by Imperial Japanese forces.
Fred A. Eddy's 1890 correspondence contains a large list of Coleoptera.
Henry Edwards' correspondence contains an 1873 letter detailing boxes of Coleoptera, Hymenoptera, and Lepidoptera specimens sent to the American Entomological Society (AES). The majority of the specimens were collected in Washington territory, Oregon, California, and Vancouver Island. Other locations include Colorado and Arizona. Dumond, R.A.
