Description
This folder contains correspondence from multiple individuals. A. Conradi’s correspondence details multiple exchanges of different insects with the American Entomological Society (AES). They include but are not limited to Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera, and Diptera. Many of the Lepidoptera specimens collected by Conradi originated from South America while a few of his Hymenoptera specimens, particularly pallida, originated from Europe. In 1903, Conradi sent several flies to the AES to be named.
John H. Cook’s correspondence discusses his work with Thecla, a genus of butterflies. His correspondence with Henry Skinner indicates severe disagreements surrounding the publication of an article about Thecla henrici, where Skinner published the article without implementing any of Cook’s inputs or feedback. In two separate letters, Cook confronted Skinner about his disregard of certain details and literature surrounding Thecla henrici.
