Title
25. Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins with his statue of the Irish elk, Megaloceros, No. 1
Description
A sepia-toned photoprint of Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins looking at the reconstructed figure of the Irish Elk or Megaloceros. This photograph's location is under speculation as to whether it is in Central Park (New York) or Crystal Palace (Sydenham), though Princeton Natural History Museum curator Dr. Donald Baird noted that the background does not resemble either of the likely Central Park or New York locations where the Irish Elk figure was present.
