Dr. Ramon F. Dacheux, Class of '69, is pictured here with Dr. Robert Angstadt, professor of biology, during a 2001 visit to Lycoming College. During his visit, Dr. Dacheux was a guest speaker at the 14th Annual Biology/Chemistry Homecoming Seminar. At the time, Dr. Dacheux was a professor of opthalmology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Ramon Dacheux graduated from Lycoming College in 1969 with a B.A. in Biology. At Lycoming, Dr. Dacheux studied the imprinting of domestic fowl under the supervision of his mentor, Dr. Angstadt, who was an assistant professor of biology. A look at the Lycoming College yearbook The Arrow shows that during his years at Lycoming College, Dr. Dacheux was a member of the wrestling team, the football team, and a member of Theta Chi fraternity. Dr. Dacheux passed away May 30, 2006. A memoriam by Robert F. Miller and Elio Raviola, outlining Dr. Dacheux's extensive academic background and contributions to the field of opthalmology, is located in the Lycoming College Archives in Snowden Library. |
