Description
Tribute was paid to head football coach Frank Girardi , one of the winningest coaches in NCAA history , at Lycoming College's annual football awards banquet . Girardi was recognized for becoming only the 17th coach at any NCAA football level to win 250 games . The milestone was met November 16 , 2005 , during an over time victory against rival Susquehanna Universtiy . According to the Lycoming College website , "The Dean of the College , Dr . John Piper , completed a rare collection by presenting Girardi with one of the game balls from his 250th win . The front of the ball was painted blue with white and gold lettering that marked the occasion. "
