John Detwiler , Acting President of Lycoming College presents the Lycoming College Award of Distinction to Katherine Forrest Mathers '28 . Parts of the citation read : 'You entered Williamsport Dickinson Seminary in September , 1926 , and graduated with the Class of 1928 . Your education was continued at Bucknell University where you earned the A.B . degree in 1932 and the Master of Arts degree in 1933 . On Christmas Day , 1941 , you became the bride of James M . Mathers and together you developed a successful insurance business in Altoona … you continued to manage the business while your husband was on duty during World War II , and after his untimely death several years later … Your concern for the College and your generosity prompted you to establish a memorial honoring your parents and your sister , Anna , who graduated from the Seminary in 1930 . This memorial is our newest women's dormitory , Forrest Hall... ' John G . Detwiler , Acting President of the College .
