From article on back , 'Jean Flook is Named Dickinson May Queen ': 'Selection of the queen and her court was made by members of the Women's Student Council of the junior college , shown in the accompanying picture . The girls are: First row , left to right : Sara Jane Person , Jeanne VanTilburg , Ruth Guest , Miss Leslie Minor , advisor . Second row : June Kaley , Emmy Lou Heyd , Doris Losch , Pauline Parker . Third row : Julia Minds , Betty Foresman , Jean Flook , the May Queen , and Sara Graham . May Day at the junior college is always a bright affair , with pageantry and regality taking place of the usual informal campus demeanor . The ceremonies usually are held on the north campus , except when the weather is inclement . In that case , the proceedings are carried on in the gymnasium . Guest day at the school has been set aside for prospective students to visit the institution as guests , together with their parents , so that they can get some idea of life and learning at the school. '
