Death of Mrs. G. W. Youngman.
An Estimable Lady Passes Away at an Early Hour Yesterday Morning.
At an early hour yesterday morning occurred the death of Mrs. Anna Eliza, wife of George W. Youngman, Esq., at the family residence on the farm north of Newberry. The deceased had been ill about a month, and her death was caused by old age.
Mrs. Youngman’s maiden name was Anna Eliza Ludwig. She was a daughter of Samuel Ludwig, and was born August 18, 1818, at the home of her grandfather, Hon. Ludwig Worman, in Amityville, Berke county.
She was married March 26, 1844, at Lewisburg, to George W. Youngman, of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Youngman resided in this city for thirty years. They celebrated their golden wedding last March on the farm near Newberry.
A husband and seven children survive the deceased, the children being Alonzo, Samuel L., George W., William L., James M., and Dr Charles W. Youngman and Mrs. James L. Mahaffey. The deceased enjoyed a large acquaintanceship, as she was a kind friend and neighbor to all. The funeral will take place from the house tomorrow afternoon at 4 o’clock, Interment will be made in Wildwood.
