Mrs. Elizabeth A. Meginness, wife of W. W. Meginness, editor of the Gazette and Bulletin, died at 1:20 o’clock this morning after a brief illness, of peritonitis, aged 33 years and 11 days. Mrs. Meginness’ illness was of about a week’s duration, but her condition was not considered dangerous until Friday night when the trouble to which her death was due developed. All that medical skill could do was done for her, she was given the best of care by loving hands, but efforts of science and love were unavailing. Besides her husband she leaves three children – Mabel, aged 15; John F. Jr., aged 2 years, and a daughter one week old. She was also leaves a mother, Mrs. Eva Leaber, and two brothers and two sisters – Robert and Edward Leaber, Mrs. Joseph H. Hilsher and Mrs. John K. Kracht.
Mrs. Meginness was born in this city and has been a lifelong resident here. She was a woman of excellent qualities, a true friend, a loving wife and mother, and her demise will be mourned by all who knew her. She was wrapt up in her home. Mrs. Meginness was a consistent member of Christ Protestant Episcopal church.
