Message No. 1--
"DO FOR OUR GIRLS 7i^AT WE'VI DONE FOR OUR BOYS"
The spirit of a city never rises above the spirit of her women. To be truly great Williams¬ port must have, besides a material prosperity, those factors which ever increasingly contribute toward educational advantages and spiritual influence and service.
The Young Women's Christian Association stands for the development of Womanhood. The cross roads in that development have been reached, one road of which leads to a greater service, the other to a stunting of Its growth. Only through a new building can the Y. W. C. A. choose the road to larger service.
During the days of May 13-20 the Y. W. C. A. is to ask the people of Williamsport and vicinity for $450,000.00 with which to erect a modern, complete and adequately equipped building on Fourth street, between Campbell and Maynard streets, in which it may continue and increase its service l,o the women and girls of Williamsport and community.
The spirit of Williamsport people has made possible the many advantages our city now enjoys, and this same spirit is certain to give to our city the added advantages of this modern Y. W. C. A. building.
Your gift to this fund means more than build¬ ing a building, it means building the girlhood and womanhood of the community. Give generously to this noble cause, for every dollar you give is an investment in human capital which always pays the greatest dividends.
