Description
Letter sent by William Gustin Lowry (Gus) to his sister Margaret Judson Lowry (Mag) from the headquarters of the 1st Division , 5th Corp on May 23 , 1863 . Gus is on a court martial case at the head quarters . He writes that he is not sure when the next fight will be, but he hopes it goes well the next time they do fight . Gus notes that there are many pretty girls where he is staying . However , they are all confederates , and Gus is a married man , so he has not had much to do with them. Gus ends the letter by stating that he sent his sister five dollars the other day . She is to let him know if she needs money .
