This section includes pages ninety-three to page one-hundred and twenty-three of Jennie Mitchell's Scrap Book . Page ninety-three includes the following articles : "Uncle Sam Gets His Work Done " "A Toad With a "Kiver " "A Queen's Ingenuity " and "A Strange Instance of Somnambulism. " Page ninety-four consists of the poem "Winding My Watch " by Lulu Gray Noble , followed by the article , "Amiable to All. " Also included are the articles "Don't Be Ashamed of Amusements " "A Ghost In Love " "Blunders " "For Parents-- How to Ruin A Son " from Utica Herald , "A Word to Fathers " and Good As New. " Page ninety-five contains one of the few color illustrations in the book . The title is "American Songs : Home of John Howard Payne. " Also included with the article are black and white illustrations of Maria Tree and Stephens Collins Foster . Page ninety-six includes a copy of "The Star Spangled Banner " followed by an article with the title "Songs of the People. " Also included is an illustration of Francis Scott Key . Page ninety-seven includes the following articles : "A True Hero " "A Stork Story " "A Frozen Ship " "Power of a Word " and "Too Much For the Pay. " Page ninety-eight consists of the articles , "My First Theft " "The Doom of Slavery " "The Works of the Wicked Follow Them" and an article from the New York Mercury with the title "Books And Their Influence. " Page ninety-nine includes an article with the title "Wichita To Disgrace Old Glory " followed by "Spain Aims Blow At Papacy. " The rest of the page consists of an article with the heading "Cincinnati Dailies Boycott The Menace. " Pages one hundred and one hundred and one contain a page from The Menace , an anti-papal paper , dated September 21 , 1912 . Articles included in this section are "Priests and Puppets Defame Liberty " and "Roman Rats Desert Doomed Ships. " Page one hundred and two continues with articles from The Menace , and are from the same date . Writings that are included are the following : "Romanism is Nation's Menace " and "Protestants Build Cathedral. " Page one hundred and three includes a poem from Toledo Republican , with the title "The Voice of Freedom. " This is followed by an article from the New England Farmer , with the title "That is My Home. " Also on this page are the articles "Correspondent's Portfolio , My Neighbor Over the Way " and "Extravagance of Women. " Page one hundred and four consists of the following articles : "The Anti-Taking Babies Into Public-Assemblies Society " "Queer Technicalities of Printing " "Can Anyone Tell? " "Moral Bravery " "Startling Scene At A Concert " and "Fluency of Speech. " Page one hundred and five includes "Charity As a Business " "An Inexhaustible Treasure-House " "The Face in the Mirror " "A Stray Leaf From Memory's Lane " by George W . Cook , and "Thought on Religion. " Page one hundred and six contains a clipping from Saint Joseph-- Organ of the Republic , published in Saint Joseph , Missouri . Included is a "Carrier's Address To The Friends and Patrons of the Saint Joseph Free Democrat , January 1 , 1861 . Page one hundred and seven includes an article from Free Democrat , Volume II (?) , with a date of January 5 , 1861 . Page one hundred and eight includes the following : "A Yankee in Dixie " and "Japanese Proverbs " compiled by William E . Griffis . Page one hundred and ten includes writings with the heading "New York , Thursday , February 6 , 1873 , Number 1262. " Included is an article with the title , "Catholicity and Protestanism " by Pere Hyacinthe , along with "Dr . Leavitt's Death " by Pres . Charles G . Finney . Page one hundred and eleven begins with the article , "$50,000 Building Fund Rasied by Y.M.C.A. " followed by a "Statement From Mr . Fought , Man Who Conducted Campaign Has High Opinion of Indiana. " Pages one hundred and twelve and one hundred and thirteen consist of a large illustration and Harper Bazar (sic) article about "The Crown Princess of Prussia " with a date of November 26 , 1870 . Page one hundred and fourteen contains mostly popular Civil War era songs , along with an article about them. This page includes "Wake Nicodemus " "Dixie " and an article about "Yankee Doodle. " Page one hundred and fifteen includes a poem by William Lloyd Garrison with the title "Human Equality " published in The Indepenedent . Also included are the articles "Freedom For the Slave! " and "Social Amusements in Texas. " Page one hundred and sixteen contains a large illustration taken from a photograph of Octavius V . Catto , and also includes a lengthy article about this individual . Page one hundred and seventeen includes the articles "American Heathen " and "Conjugal Surprises. " Page one hundred and eighteen contains a large illustration and writing with the title "The Priesthood and Marriage. " These clippings appear to be from The Independent , with an approximate date of 1872 . Page one hundred and nineteen includes a large illustration of a woman identified as Mrs . Hyacinthe Loyson , along with an article . Also included on this page is a poem with the title "Shut the Door Softly."Page one hundred and twenty contians an article about Judge Grier and Dr . Robert Mitchell , in regards to the former's trial for abolitionist activities . Page one hundred and twenty one continues the article about Dr . Mitchell , and also contains an article about Judge Grier , written by Jane Grey Swisshelm . The page concludes with an article from October 15 , 1907 , with the title "When Feeling Ran High , Incidents of the Long Ago Recalled By an Old-Timer. " Page one hundred and twenty three includes writings from The Cherokee Advocate , with a publication date of February 25 , 1871 . The majority of the paper is written in the Cherokee language , and also includes sections in English .
