Br* Thomas S. Baker, President, Carnegie institute of Technology.
Dear Br* Baker:
Referring to Col* Churches request for material to represent the Carnegie Institute of Technology In the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Memorial Building in Dunfermline, Scotland, I suggest the following as the has is- of oar collections
1. In enlarged copy of the airplane Tiew of Carnegie Institute of Technology, similar to the photograph now hanging in the later corridor of the Central Building.
2. For display under or adjacent to the photograph, a chart outlining the names of" the buildings, departments, courses, and subjects of instruction given in each department.
5. A collection of exterior and interior views of the Institute of Technology hound and assorted by colleges; I.e., a binder labelled the "College of Engineering" will contain several exterior views of the Engineering 'buildings, tod "interior views of the various departments; etc., for each collage.
4. A complete collection of all catalogs and publications issued by the Carnegie Institute of Technology during the past twelve months.
5. As an alternative unit, and, possibly as an additional detail to the enlarged airplane view, a block plan showing the layout of the Caraegie^Inst itute and the Carnegie Ins t itute of technology could be prepared in accordance with -«r. Shearerfa suggestion* However, I believe that the airplane view more adequately represents our part of the proposed collect ion.
I shall he glad to tabs the responsibility for collecting of the photographs and publications* For the proper preparation of the entire collection I suggest that one of the younger Instructors in the College of Fine Arts be engaged to assemble the material for public display.
Tours very truly,
