A photograph of a handwritten Freedom of the Burgh from the Town Council of Tain , Scotland , admitting and receiving Andrew Carnegie as "burgess and guild brother of the Burgh " recognizing him for his support of free public libraries and "other useful institutions ". The ticket includes decorations , decorative letters , a small portrait of Andrew Carnegie , two vignettes , the intertwined initials AC , a seal and signatures of the town clerk .
