Two photographs showing both sides of a medal issued by Fondation Carnegie , the French equivalent of the Carnegie Hero Fund Trust . One side features the portrait of Andrew Carnegie and the inscriptions "Fondation Carnegie , 1909 " and "Liberalite d'un citoyen Americain pour recompenser les actes de courage accomplis en France. " The other shows an angel placing a crown of laurels on the head of a genuflecting male figure and bears the inscriptions "Aux heros de la civilisation " and "Andrew Carnegie , 1909.
