Dear Mr. Franks,
Please send Four Million Dollars United States Steel Corporation 5% First Mortgage Bonds, to the Trustees of the Carnegie Institute,
Pittsburg, Pa. This amount doubles the present endowment. In addition, I have given, subject to their call, One Million Dollars in cash
and One Million Dollars in Bonds, the former as needed for further extensions to the Technical Schools, the latter when these are open to scholars.
Please let the Trustees have both cash and bonds when they call upon you and conditions are fulfilled.
I enclose you copy of letter which I have sent to the Board of Trustees.
