Dear Colonel Church:
Thank you for copy of your letter to Mr. Bertram. We leave for Lenox on Saturday of this week and it is probable that I may not be able to get back for the meeting on Monday. If the meeting is to be held in Pittsburgh it would at this time make it particularly impossible for me to attend. Were it nto for the fact that we have been getting more than our share of newspaper notoriety during the last week there would be no difficulty about my getting to the meeting on Monday, and I expect to be able to attend any that may be called during the summer. As I have been counting a good deal on seeing you when you came to this meeting. I am much disappointed with the prospect of being absent.
With kind regards, I am,
John A Poynton
Very sincerely yours,
May 29, 1917
