Description	An signed typescript letter from John A. Poynton to Samuel Harden Church, written during the Carnegies' stay at Shadowbrook in Lenox, Massachusetts. Poynton comments on: Church's letter on the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association; his regrets about having to discontinue their discussion on the topic of the Carnegie Institute; the improved health of Andrew Carnegie and his interest in "all things, particularly the progress of the Allies." Poynton also extends an invitation for the Churches to come to Lenox and stay as his guests at the Curtis Hotel. On Shadowbrook letterhead.

I am sorry that were not able to continue our conversation about the affairs of the Institute at a time when it was becoming very interesting What is the likelihood of your motoring through this section during the summer? I am sure the family would be glad to see you, and I would like to have you and Mrs Church as my guests at the Curtis Hotel, where I stop. The high air of this section has proved to be just what Mr Carnegie needed. He is feeling splendidly and interested in all things, particularly the progress of the Allies.
