box00007_fld00027_bdl0003_doc0001_01000001.txt; Dear Colonel Church:
Mr. Carnegie is suffering from a slight cold and I cannot show him the copy of the "Labor World" with your article on "Equal Opportunities* at this time. May I, however, express my own appreciation of it? , With your usual tact you have written an article that should be equally agreeable and instructive to Labor and Capital - whatever the difference betwen them may be. I wonder what wage the "laborer" would demand if he had to work as hard as the man at the desk. Probably he would become so engrossed in his labor that there would be little time for thought of compensation.
I suppose there will be a meeting of the full board of the Corporation before we disperse for the summer, and when that call brings you to New York, we must arrange to have luncheon together.
Sincerely,
John a. Poynton
