Mr. J.A. Poynton
2 East 91st Street
New York City
Dear Mr. Poynton:
I have your letter of the 17th instant and am very much interested in the striking characterization of Mr. Carnegie which you send m from the late Richard Watson Gilder. The paragraph contains a fine and comprehensive description of the many mixed moods which make up the character of Mr. Carnegie. I have myself seen the play of all of these moods and possibly at times of all of them together. I have marked the paragraph for incorporation in own little biographical stetch of Mr. Carnegie.
Sincerely yours.
