Mr. J. A. Poynton
2 East 91st Street
New York City
Dear Mr. Poynton:
I have made inquiry about the Carnegie Engineering Corporation and find that the concern has no connection whatever with the United States steel Corporation, or with any other organised body affiliated with it or in which Mr. Carnegie's friends are interested.
My inquiries lead me to think: that the concern is not in any way worthy of business respect and confidentially, I might add that they have absolutely no credit, that some of their transactlone have recently been brought into investigation in a legal way. In other words, according to my inforaation, your friends in Scotland should have nothing whatever to do with them. They are simply trading upon Mr. Carnegie's name.
I am glad you are taking a vacation. You certainly need a rest. I am also much gratified at the good reports you send me.
Sincerely yours,
President
