Mr. J.A. Poynton
2 East 91st Street
New York City
Dear Mr. Poynton;
Answering your letter of the 15th instant, I am very much interested in reading the proof of Mr. Carnegie's testimony. We can distribute as many copies as you wish us to have. For example, most of the well-to-do business men of Pittsburgh belong to the Duquesne Club, and it might be well to send a copy to each member, about 600 of them. This would give the pamphlet a most representative circulation throughout Pittsburgh; and besides that we could use say 200 copies more for our trustees, heads of departments, educator, and professional men around Pittsburgh.
I think I would get one or two of the girls who are to be dismissed from the Library to do the addressing, and this would furnish them with some little employment for a few days. In that case, would yon want to send you a little bill covering the cost.
Very truly yours,
President
P.S. if you desire me to make a still larger distribution, I could send 1000 more copies to the principal railroad officials throughout America. Will be governed wholly by your wishes.
S.H.C.
Dictated.
