Mr. J. A. Poynton
2 East 91st Street
New York City
Dear Mr. Poynton
I am enclosing two portraits of Mr. Canegie clipped from the Pittsbrugh Post of Sunday. The picture on the left is one of the most remarkable that I have ever seen. It shows the element of fun and sly spirit of teasing which we are all know to be characteristic of Mr. Carnegie but which I have never yet seen in any other photograph. It is such a remarkable picture that I think we ought to have it preserved. Can you obtain the plate, or, at least have some copies of it made? I certainly want to lay this portrait aside for Mr. Carnegie's biography, that is sure to come up in the future.
Sincerely yours,
President
Enclosure.
