Mr. J.A. Poynton
2 East 91st Street
Hew York City
Dear Mr. Poynton:
I told Mr. Carnegie on Saturday that my office at the Institute is in a very handsome room called the President's Room, and that there is a very stately panel over the mantel-piece which seems to have been naturally designed for a portrait of the founder. Mr. Carnegie promised to send me the oil portrait of himself that was painted by the Princess Parlaghi. Will you kindly remind him of his promise, and if convenient have the picture shipped to me this week at the Institute, before Mr. Carnegie goes away.
Sincerely yours,
President
P. S. have not seen the Parlaghi portrait. Of course I am glad to get any portrait of my friend but I want the best one available.
