Pittsburgh, Pa. April 30, 1909
Mr. James Bertram,
2 East Ninety-first Street, New York.
Dear Mr. Bertram:
I have your note and am sending you today complete list of newspaper articles on our celebration. It was a great success. We had a packed house, and Mr. Carnegiefs letter was enthusiastically cheered. The German Ambassador received such a hearty welcome and such kind treatment during the whole of his stay in Pittsburgh that he telegraphed the German Emperor about it, telling us he was not going to wait to write him a letter. I have sent a set of newspapers to Mr. Carnegie at Naples.
Cordially yours,
Secretary.
