We are in receipt of the following communication:
"New York, 14 April, 1899.
"THE CARNEGIE STEEL COMPANY, LIMITED, "Pittsburg, Pa.
"Dear Sirs;
It is proposed to extend the Carnegie Institute, and the plans proposed will involve an expenditure ef about One and three quarter million Dollars. The money will be required from time to time during a period of about two years or more, and none of it this year, but I thought it well to advise you that I have promised to ex pend this money upon the Institute, and that the authorities will draw upon you from time to time as money is needed for the purpose. These calls you will please honor and charge my account.*
