W. N. FREW, ATTORNEY AT LAW, CARNEGIE BUILDING, PITTSBURGH, PA.
May 16th 1898.
My Dear Mr. Carnegie
I am in receipt this morning of a letter from Mr. St. Qaudens, dated Paris, May 4th, in which he says, WI must apologize for my long delay in replying to your letter of April 6th, but my time has been more than full in preparing for an exhibition here. My present intention is to return to New York in October, and I shall be most happy to undertake the proposed monument to Col. Anderson, if it is in my power to do so."
As Mr. St. Gaudens intends to return to this country, I think we had better wait for him, but will of course be guided by your wishes in the matter. Will you kindly let me know your decision.
Very truly yours,
