It is said that Whittaker would have testified that he saw Howard the night before he came to Frankfort and that his testimony would show whether Howard wore a mustache at that time. Monscb's application for a pardon recalls a historic tragedy. In 18117 he stabbed and killed George Off, a well known butcher, in a saloon in the Ctine Hun road. William P. Miller was convicted of grand larceny by a Jury in the borough of Brooklyn. It is said that Whittaker would have testified that he saw Howard the night before he came to Frankfort and that his testimony would show whether Howard wore a mustache at that time.
