Tbe woman who saved the life of Coldnel Mulligan of tbe Mulligan guards of Chicago during tbe civil war was found recently living In a hovel In Stevensvllle, near St. Joseph, Midi., says the New York Sun. Her name Is Mary Cochrane, and she Is familiarly known as "Indian Mary" and Is believed by some to be a witch. She entered tbe civil war as a nurse ami was assigned to Mulligan's brigade.
