The building now under construction for the Pennsylvania Fire Brick company at Beach Creek Was blown down, and Thomas Stahl. an employee. had a leg severely injured. Two tobacco sheds belonging to Robert Mc- Cormick below this city were torn to pieces, and the crop of 1,200 acres of tobacco leaf stored in the sheds was destroyed. The tobacco shed of Thomas McKeague at McElhattan was also destroyed, and two iron stacks at L. M. Patterson & Co.'s pipe works, this city, were blown down. Fom Christmas Cake.... Lorain, O., Nor. 22.—The Cleveland life saving crew were summoned here yesterday afternoon to rescue four seamen on board the schooner St. Lawrence, which was dashed on the beach in a northwest gale. The boat had on board a cargo of coal and had got fire miles from Kellys island when the gale struck her, and she was put about and made for this harbor. A tug went to her assistance and towed her to a point 400 feet from the pier, when the line snapped and she drifted ashore. All on board were saved. Arkabucla, Miss., Nov. 22.—Tuesday afternoon a tornado descended upon this t little town, .and as a result of its fearful intensity ten persons were killed outright, and 20 were injured. The storm overwhelmed the town about 5 o'clock in the afternoon, and in a few minutes nearly every building was demolished. Many of the victims were pinned under the wreckage and were extricated with difficulty. The tornado passed to the northeast and caused much damage through the country districts. Nov. 22.—During the last 24 hours the telegraph service between Cleveland, Chicago, Buffslo and Columbus bas been badly crippled as the result of the fierce windstorm which swept over the great lakes and over the northern part of Ohio. The wind knocked down telegraph wires between Buffalo and Chicago and Cleveland and Columbus. and an army of linement have been sent out from this city to repair the damage. Lake craft suffered even more seriously than did the railroads. The steamer Britton arrived from Detroit during the day. The captain of the steamer said that he left Detroit with 11 other steamers. Only two succeeded in making the trip to Cleveland, and the other ten were co4elled to turn into Pigeon bay for shelter. The wind has blown the water from Limekiln crossing, near Amherstburg, leaving a big fleet above it unable to get out. The water has also been blown out of Sandusky bay and Toledo barbor, leaving only five feet at Tolado and six feet at Sandusky bay.
