Don't Take London, Oct. 27.—Admiral Rodjestvensky's report on the firing on the Hull fishing boats in the North Sea was received today by th€ Russian ambassador, Count Benckendorff, and was handed by him to the foreign secretary, Lord Lansdowne. The admiral states that he never had any intention of firing against the trawlers. He says that if any stray shot hit any of the fishing boats it was entirely accidental. The trawlers were early noticed by the Russian fleet as it passed the Digger Bank and among the trawlers the Russian officers observed two steamers moving at high speed, which looked exactly like torpedo boats. Rodjestvensky concluded that they were Japanese torpedo beats and says it is his impression that his squadron fired only against these two ships. One of these foreign torpedo boats disappeared after the firing. The other remained until the morning, waiting for its companion or repairing. The admiral denies that a Russian warship was left behind for six hours and that it never lowered a boat to help the Injured. The Russian officers, he says, were totally ignorant of any shots having struck the trawlers. In behalf of himself and all his officers and men, he extremely regrets that any trawlers and fishermen suffered.
