QV budget would increase taxes .25 mills by bobby Cherry STAFF WRITER It’s been one of the toughest budgets Quaker Valley Superintendent Joseph Clapper said he’s ever worked on — and it’s not over yet. “It’s been a significant budget challenge due to loss of revenue,” Clapper said. Quaker Valley School District’s $39.9 million proposed final budget calls for a .25-mill property tax increase for the 2011-12 school year. The increase would mean a property owner whose home is valued at $156,000 would see about a $39 increase in their annual school taxes from the current rate. School board members . approved the proposed final budget Tuesday.
