Gas prices starting to take a toil By Bobby cherry STAFF WRITER If you drive, you’ve no doubt felt the pain at the pump in your -wallet Gas prices in the region are up more than 20 cents since Feb. 21, according to AAA Fuel Gauge Report. Locally, self-serve stations in the area earlier this week had gas priced between $3.45 and $3.49 per gallon. The regional average was $3.51 — up 70 cents from a year ago, according to the AAA. Some analysts suggest gas could reach $4 a gallon within a few months if unrest in Libya and turmoil in the Middle East continue to spread. That doesn’t help local residents like Joe Port, of Am-bridge, who is altering his driving patterns with the recent spike in gas prices.
