More than 130 guests boarded the Gateway Clipper for a springtime adventure down river to Beaver and hack again last Friday, “It was a wonderful evening,” said Lynn Kohlmeyer, “enjoying everyone and seeing everything blooming on the shore.” The buffet dinner, the dancing, the great spirits helped the Centennial Committee kick-off the year-long celebration of its founding. “It was a mix of all of Leetsdale — the old and the young,” she said. And when the boat docked at Petrun Road sometime near 11 p.m., some very tired, hut very happy planners, drove off to their homes, pleased and proud of their great community. 100 years Volume 101, issue 18 auppo By Rachel Weaver. Meanwhile, controversy surfaced regarding the township’s Neighborhood Watch and Crime Prevention organizations. Board members are questioning the origin of funds in a Crime Prevention organization checking account. Poppenberg also said a former officer was paid to be at the volunteer-based organization’s meetings. Commissioners are continuing research of the regional police study and anticipate plans to be under way by toe end of this year.
