Aumority officials are urging residents to have their waters tested “tn protecT themselves and their famihes and reduce _______—- Whom to call for water tests Several local laboratories will test drinking water. They are: • Schiller Division Microbac Labs Inc., 449 Rochester Road, Pittsburgh, 15237, 369-4830; • Duncan, Lagnese & Associates Inc., 9951 Old Perry Highway, Wexford, Pa., 15090, 935-3440. Edgeworth Water Authority will not test water, but can answer questions at 741-5100. their exposure to lead in drink-ing water;.” ~ Required by the Environmental Protection Agency, the study showed that six of the 40 random sites — 15 percent — within the authority’s jurisdiction contained high levels of lead. Those same 40 ----------------^ sites are being retested by the EPA to make sure initial findings are conclusive. “They are not really high, not toxic,” said Joyce M. Carte, of the authority. “But they are enough to warn residents and tell them to take measures.” The authority services about 230-homes and businesses in EdgeWmlrr Leetsdale, Leet Township and parts of Bell Accgg, ——-— ------------— "Hjjfs.
