This town seems to be the mocca of agents and peddlers. If you would give them all the time they wanted you would have none left to attend to your own affairs. William Thomss, who had his log broken in No. 1 mine a couple of weeks ago. is getting along nioely, and will soon be able to navigate again. JoeSamgiza, the Hungarian who was shot on August 22, by Stovo Madoras, and whom it was thought would surely die, is still among the living, and will likoly recovor. A little thing like a bullet wound in the neighborhood of the heart, is not likely to cause a husky Hungarian much annoyance. The would-be murderer is still at large, and so far as I can learn no vory earnest attem pt is being made to capturo him. We havo had sevoral fatal shooting and cutting affrays in Eleanora, and up to this time nobody has been punished. It is time the laws were being more strictly enforced. For tho thirty second National Encampment of G. A. R., to )>e hold at Cincinnati, 0., September 5 to 10, 1898, the Pennsylvania Railroad Company will sell excursion tickets at rate of single fare for the round trip. Those tickets will bo sold on September 3, 4, and 5, and will be good to leave Cincinnati returning not earlier than September ft nor later than September 13, except that by depositing ticket with Joint Agent at Cincinnati on September 5, 0, 7, 8, or 0, and on payment of twenty-Ave cents, return limit may be extended so that passengers may remain at Cincinnati until October. 7 ypy • - v w- * : s > 1 mw
