THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN CLAYTON North and C. O. Wilson was formed January 1, 1890, and in order to relieve the minds of some people who are always busy attending to other peoples' business, we think it best to advertise the new firm. Our SPRING STOCK is coming in daily, and trade is keeping up wonderfully, notwithstanding the monopoly the Sheriff has been trying to have over the business in Punxsutawney. Our trade could not be better. We fife positively THE LEADING ONE PRICE CLOTHIERS of Jefferson county, and what is more, there neisrer was a ONE PRICE STORE in this town until we came, and now to see some of our competitors advertise, you would think they had been born One Price Clothiers. There are always people who would claim all the glory, no matter at whose expense. We are still the original One Price Clothers. We have first place and intend to keep it. Our Spring Stock comprises everything new and novel. We have just received a brand new line of PANTS, some of the nobbiest styles you ever saw. In mens suits we have everything. The only way you can form an idea ot our stock is to call and examine it for yourselves. The insurance firm of Jno. F. and O. E. Brown, of Clarion anil Brookville, had a largo portion of the insurance in Punxsutawney at the time of our great fire of 1886 and it is not flattery to say that their adjustments were prompt and sntistactory. Every loss was settled and paid by sight drafts, over $30,000 being paid by their companies within 60 days after the fire. That fire did not dis courage them and they have written most of the new buildings and stocks. Their busi ness has increised so much that they have opened an office in Punxsutawney, in tront room of second story of John Zeitler block, and placed Walter S. Brown, one of the brothers, in charge. HUGHES, BOEON DENTIST, The saloon keepers say that they will keep their saloons closed until the present fury is over. Mr.Thompson, for the brewing company, left for t . Louis this evening. Tho fever is spreading, and tho women of FredericVtown are now holding meetings and making arrangements lo wipe out tho saloons in that vicinity. Farmidgton, Mo., April i.—The petticoat oruBidors, led by Mrs. \Villiam9, Mrs. Foster, Mrs. James and others, continued their raid to day. It was decided to sack the saloons at 10 o'clock, but information of tho contemplated raid reached tho saloon keepers and they all promptly closed their places and barred tho doors. When the scouts of tho crusaders brought back news of the closing of the saloons the women appeared disappointed, but as they had large spots of red blood in their eyes they would not be put off in this fashion. Another consignment of beor was due at Delassus and they drove over to the station to take chargo of it. Axes and hammers formed the armament, and at 2 o'clock Delassus was reached. A wagon load of beer consigned to the saloons at Doe Run was found standing on the sidetraok and was promptly attacked. In a short time the bungs begau to lly and the neighborhood was deluged in beer. A big crowd of men and women witnessed the destruction. Holland is lecoming exceedingly fidgety about lior militia affairs, says a,' letter In the New York Tribune. Thei national defenses lire in a disorganized' condition, and tho Dutch would bo unable to offer much resistanco to any in-| vasion. Reform ia fho cry on ovory< hand, and universal oonseriptioni is advocated on r.ll sides; but no one seoms to feel disposed to carry, the matter through. A t things now are' no Dutchman neod servo in tho regular army if he can pay for a substitute. The conseqnonce is that tbo rich aro op-j posed to tho universal conscription, flfecauso they do not want to servo, and the poor are against it berauso they wouldi no longer receive tho largo sums which their children earn by serving1 as substitutes.
