Howard Carter Daywait (r.), a George Clay Co. fireman, holds the duck moments after the rescue. Windy Helenski, a Swedeland Co. fireman, is sculler of the rescue craft. A woman called firemen to tell them that a duck was trapped in the ice-covered creek Tuesday morn-ing. Clay and Swedeland firemen teamed up for the rescue. The duck was taken home to thaw out by Vicki Lynn Mclntyre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mclntyre, 230 Balligo Rd., West Conshohocken. Conshohocken Demo-crats proved that this Is true last night. The Democrats landed two of their own in key Borough posts — a Coun-cil seat and a seat on the Borough Sewer Authority. Both vacancies had previously been held by Re-publicans. The appointments were made dur-ing the regular monthly meeting of Borough Council. The new Councilman is John Tierney, of 318 W. 10th Ave. Appointed to the Sewer Authority (Continued on Page Fivt> No Parking Tickets During Yule Season A custom that started in Con-shohocken four years ago will continue this year. And it means a real break for many Christ-mas shoppers. Conshohocken Police will not ticket cars that violate parking meter regulations on Fayette St. between now and Christmas. Instead, police officers place a "Holiday Greeting" on the car that tells the driver the missing fine is a Christmas gift from the borough. Plan OK'd to Reorganize School Districts in Area The Montgomery County Board of School Directors last night approved a plan of school reorganization in accordance with the controversial Aet 561 Under the plan, the districts of Conshohocken, Plymouth and Whitemarsh would be merged. West Conshohocken would Join with Upper Merlon and Bridgeport. The seven-member board, Hurl-ing in West Norrlton. voted unan-imously for the pli>n. Directors not-ed, however, that they would re-quest the opportunity to make their own clianges if the law is revised. Gov.-elect William W.
