' Miaa Kathleen Balsbach who haa been touring Ohio with the Kinyon Concert Company, was taken suddenly ill last Sunday at OrrviUe, where she had gone to spend the day with her cousins, M. O. Fraxer and wife. Later aha returned home te company with Mr. Fraxer, to recover ber former health. On Tuesday evening a pleasant event at the Evangelical ehurch waa s reception to the pastor and wife upon their return to tiw local charge for another year, and to the aaw members who joined the church recently. There were almost one hundred from Bellwood and Pinecroft at thia affair. Mrs. William Helsel, of near La Jose, passed away there on Monday morning. The lady will be remembered by many of the older folks of Bellwood, having been a citisen here more than thirty years sgs. She was 88 years of age, sad in fairly good health until laat week urban she contracted pneumonia which resulted te her death. Among the surviving children is, Stephen Helsel of tids place. Tbe. chief burgess wifl rstsru home late to- I aight aad -take a report af hta FLAGS WERE DEDICATED Impressive dedicatory service* werS held in the First Methodist church last Sunday evening, whea tiia Stars and Stripes, tiw flag of tiw nation, and the Christian flag, the flag representing the cause of Christ, were appropriately dedicated. A specially prepared program wss observed, and WSS opened with an organ prelude, followed by singing of hymn 610 and prayer by A. F. Myers, tiw superintendent of tiw Sunday school. The beautiful silken flags were a gift to the church by the Sunday school and prominently * placed ta front ofthe pulpit. The gift at this time is quite appropriate when war clouds hover over the entire world, la which this grand and glorious nation may not be immune. The flags are most beautiful sad were admired by aU and they left an indelible impression on all in tiw audience. Ths sermon wsa by tbe pastor, Rev. Thomas M. Stone, who useo as hia theme, "Father of Us All." It was a forceful address. (At the conclusion of tiw sermon the flags were appropriately dedicated, first the flag of tha nation and than the Christian flag, in which minister and congregation took part. There were almost one hundred from Bellwood and Pinecroft at thia affair. Mrs. William Helsel, of near La Jose, passed away there on Monday morning. The lady will be remembered by many of the older folks of Bellwood, having been a citisen here more than thirty years sgs. She was 88 years of age, sad in fairly good health until laat week urban she contracted pneumonia which resulted te her death. Among the surviving children is, Stephen Helsel of tids place. A specially prepared program wss observed, and WSS opened with an organ prelude, followed by singing of hymn 610 and prayer by A. F. Myers, tiw superintendent of tiw Sunday school. The beautiful silken flags were a gift to the church by the Sunday school and prominently * placed ta front ofthe pulpit. The gift at this time is quite appropriate when war clouds hover over the entire world, la which this grand and glorious nation may not be immune. The flags are most beautiful sad were admired by aU and they left an indelible impression on all in tiw audience. Ths sermon wsa by tbe pastor, Rev. Thomas M. Stone, who useo as hia theme, "Father of Us All." It was a forceful address.
