We must act quickly, wisely and irmly in having i>eople observe the quarantine law which Is for their own protection as well as for the protection ot the general pub- Ht. •1^1 In the schools we send children Ittspected of having the disease to theli homes. The school nurse checks up with the family physi¬ cian. The child must be examined and have a doctor's certlflcate be¬ fore he can return to school. In cases irhere persons do not observe quarantine I would be very Iim, advised Mr. Orim. nnd tf after warning they persisted In biMklaff quarantine I would pro- •eeute then. All good citizens should uphold the hands of the Board of Health In this crisis. Th« development ot Ha eases in the last three days la ply here was very dirty." No 5.ie wishes to drink filth in his milk," he stated, "and yet that Is just wliat you do when you drink dirty milk." He pointed out that Council could In uo other way control the local suppl.v, except by ordinance. Your report speaks for Itself. I need not say any more about that. He then described the varloua methods of control. First he said, draw up an ordinance. Second is¬ sue permits to those who may sell milk in the town, third have your health officer see that reriuire- uients ot your ordinance are being ailliered to. The first tiling to do after pass¬ inir au ordinaiue is to notify vDur milk dealers that their cows must li.l ve the tulierculin tests. You cannot of course control farmers who supply the pasteurizing plant but you can control the plant. Many farmers think a pasteuriz¬ ing plant Is like a laundry for washing milk. Without any discussion Council on motion of Mr. Hangeu decided to draw up an ordinance for the control of milk. We must act quickly, wisely and irmly in having i>eople observe the quarantine law which Is for their own protection as well as for the protection ot the general pub- Ht. •1^1
In the schools we send children Ittspected of having the disease to theli homes.
In cases where phy- liclani do not report cases of th© dtsease I would al.so prosecute as a pfiyslcian Is just .^s amenable to law as any one else.
All good citizens should uphold the hands of the Board of Health In this crisis. Th« development ot Ha eases in the last three days la
ply here was very dirty." No 5.ie wishes to drink filth in his milk," he stated, "and yet that Is just wliat you do when you drink dirty milk."
He pointed out that Council could In uo other way control the local suppl.v, except by ordinance.
