Their annual children's Christmas Party held on Tuesday evening. the Lions will honor as citizen of the year at the Community Service meet-log on January 2nd. Some 850 Persons Attend The Hershey Retired Employees Christmas Party In Community Building; Weather Ideal Some 850 persons attended the Hershey Retired Employees Christ-mas Party on Monday night in the Community Building, with ideal De-cember weather prevailing following a week-end of sleet, ice, and rain This was a departure from the Christmas Party of a year ago when a sudden snow storm created hazardous driving conditions and reduced attendance. Arriving as early as five o'clock the retired folks and their guests had a perfectly wonderful time. With appropriate Christmas Carols sounding, from special amplifiers in the Dining Room and Lounge of the Community Building, an excellent Roast Stuffed Young Hershey Tur-key dinner menu was served, topped with Home Made Mince Pie. Greetings in the Dining Room were extended by J. E. Robb, Chairman, Board of Managers, Mil-ton Hershey School. Retired Employees' Association Chaplain, The Reverend E. E. Wit-mer, offered an invocation in the Dining Room; Assistant Chaplain, Paul M. Forry, offered the invoca-tion in the Lounge. Following dinner, the Retired Em-ployees adjourned to the beautifully decorated Community Theatre, with music provided by the Milton Her-shey School Spartan Orchestra play-ing from the Theatre's pit. Santa's Welcome was extended by little Jay Confer of Milton Hershey School, who portrayed Santa Claus. W. Allen Hammond, retired Prin-cipal of Milton Hershey High School, was leader.of the -Sing Along Carol Fest,!' which included a community sing with a special film depicting Christmas scenes and offering tho musical accompaniment and worels .of familiar Christmas Carol's. Tenor Soloist,. Howard B. P.hil-lippy, Supervisor of Machine Main-tenance Mechanics at Hershey Chocolate Corpciration, was featured with the Choir and Orchestra. "Sil-ver Bells" by the Choir was particu-larly effective. The Christmas Story was present-ed on color film, titled "Birth of a Savior," following remarks by J. B. Sollenberger, President, Hershey Estates. Following the film presentation, S. F. Hinkle, President, Hershey Chocolate Corporation, outlined the purpose of the annual Hershey Re-tired Employees Christmas Party, likening the retired employees as a balance to present-day management as they plan for the future. MERRY CHRISTMAS. Adding to the pleasant atmosphere of the Her-shey Chocolate Corporation's Visitors Department is Otis year's alit, lithium tree, trimmed with blue balls, on a revolving pedestal. Musical attachment plays "Silent Night". Rounding out the beautiful picture are the attractive guides with gaily wrapped Christmas Gifts: Jean Yingling (left); Verna Stoltz, Hostess; Prudence Melly; Martha Feidt, Shirley Conrad and Joyce Mione.
