Description
Letter sent by William J . Hosack [?] to Judge Thomas White from Dayton , PA on December 26 , 1863 . Hosack is asking Judge White to use his influence to get Hosack a promotion . He is concerned that his current position as an "enrolled soldier in the ranks " puts him at risk of being captured and that that makes his fate uncertain . It appears that Hosack may have been imprisoned with Harry in Libby Prison and that he believes that his "complicity " with Harry is well known to the Rebels . He writes that because of his association with the Judge's son , "I have at least incurred no little danger. "
