nil i'nltith mi tin1 ptartfl ivnn rnilrruid the gtowth of our own botongh is al ways a profitable subjec for newspapei sketches and much has been written about ambler's marked progress during the last decade its rise from n little way station on the north vim railroad to one of the most prosperous ami enter prising boroughs on the rending rail way has been rapid anil steady its progress has been surprisingly regular and measured even during the great prostration of bnsine in the past three year the borough has grown even more rapidly than under the more ad vantageous business conditions in november 1895 we published a list of the operations in and about amb ler and the total showed the amount of 214,875 in ambler alone 987,075 worth of property had been created during the year or was then in process of building and the remainder was being erected in the vicinity of the borough the most of it within a mile of the corporate limits a careful table prepared recently with the aid of the ambler builders fdiows that there has been created during the past year in and about amblei s'_m l,:!(i worth of property of which 965,604 worth is in the borough itself in the two list we have included the extensive operations on linaenwold avenue out side of the borough and mrs s a reed's palatial residence as both these operations have run through the two years and although the latter has been entirely completed the former is still in process of construction a portion of the large expenditure has been caused by the destructive cyclone it may be said that ambler builders have done no work elsewhere than in the borough on the contrary during the past year john i martin hasereeted a 2,00(1 house for john i'tzy of weldon a jl'/iuo barn on the smith estate < ilen side a 53,000 barn vol xv.-no 5 ambler pa jakuauy 7 l897 si 25 a year i building progress steady of growth in spite dull times amblrr an i'nunl i.oailn hi the mnrcli of public tmprnvrinrni rncmtffbgflitfi kr porta from nil i'nltith mi tin1 ptartfl ivnn rnilrruid the gtowth of our own botongh is al ways a profitable subjec for newspapei sketches and much has been written about ambler's marked progress during the last decade its rise from n little way station on the north vim railroad to one of the most prosperous ami enter prising boroughs on the rending rail way has been rapid anil steady its progress has been surprisingly regular and measured even during the great prostration of bnsine in the past three year the borough has grown even more rapidly than under the more ad vantageous business conditions in november 1895 we published a list of the operations in and about amb ler and the total showed the amount of 214,875 in ambler alone 987,075 worth of property had been created during the year or was then in process of building and the remainder was being erected in the vicinity of the borough the most of it within a mile of the corporate limits a careful table prepared recently with the aid of the ambler builders fdiows that there has been created during the past year in and about amblei s'_m l,:!(i worth of property of which 965,604 worth is in the borough itself in the two list we have included the extensive operations on linaenwold avenue out side of the borough and mrs s a reed's palatial residence as both these operations have run through the two years and although the latter has been entirely completed the former is still in process of construction a portion of the large expenditure has been caused by the destructive cyclone it may be said that ambler builders have done no work elsewhere than in the borough on the contrary during the past year john i martin hasereeted a 2,00(1 house for john i'tzy of weldon a jl'/iuo barn on the smith estate < ilen side a 53,000 barn for mrs joshua pax son dreshertown and a 000 house for edward l roberts weldon benton s russell has erected n house and stable for william hawkins willow grove and is now engaged on three houses at oak lane for ilouphton and miller which will cost about 14,000 besides this he has rebuilt the abington presbyterian church at a cost of 15,000 albert beck has erected a stable build ing and an ice and pump house for edw toland whitemarsh at a cost of 4,800 two brick buildings in perkasie for ii c horn costing 6,000 he has also myers builder 6>o00 linden wold farm alteration nml repair leidy heckli r builder .' 18,000 c w bergner greenhouse whitemarsh twp i art ¦< burnham bnildeta q. |
