Dr. Godfrey suggested that the spec¬ ial committee give careliul attention to the line marking the respectivi^ duties nf the burgess and of tlie law and order i-ommittee. The bond of the borough treasurer in the sum of $15,000. with S. A. Faust, Edwin H. Faust and Alilton D. Faust .-is sureties, was approved. A letter was read from the Phlladel-i phia & Reading Railway company ad¬ vising the borough that it has prepar¬ ed plan, etc., of the proposed under¬ ground railroad crossing on Race street and suggested a meeting of tha borough committee and the engineers of the company. Herbert ATetz's application for bor-t ough engineer was received. It being tho only application he was elected, and the usual retainer of $100, cover¬ ing ordinary routine work, was fixed. Albert Kulp applied for the position of street commi.ssioner at a salary of $18 per week. He was unanimously re-elected. The bill of George Boice for garbage collection was referred to the board, of health for approval, as some cofn- plaints have been lodged that the gar-- bage has not been regularly collected.
