vol xx.-no o ambler pa july 17 1002 1.25 a year will have gas to burn plans of the north penn gas pany com holil cbmun < imiliic valuable rn>|1(,r • y in llnckn and montgomery coiiiitlek would locate hunt nt fo representatives of the newly charter ed north penn gas company were in ambler monday evening and assured a gazette representative that the company means to ro abend with their plans aad build a plant to supply the towns of fort washington aniblpr i'enllyn gwynedd friends corner and north wales with gas for fuel and illuminating purposes in addition to this a company in sympathy with and in fact indentical to tfie i'orth penn . ias company has secured valuable fran chisee covering nearly all the towns in bucks county ihe incorporates of the company are henry r swartley km»ry p dav joseph frankinh and john krankish as soon as the desired franchises can be becured a recapitalization of the com pany will be made and an election of permanent officers will be held a survey of this section has been com pleted and mr swartley said monday evening they would be compelled to locate their plant at fort washington that place being the lowest point in al titude of all the towns they desired to reach the ground has been looked over and the survey provides for a line of pipe through fort washington up the pike to ambler thence to penllyn to gwynedd out to friends corner and then up the sumnevtown pike to north wales in which borough they already have secured the needed franchise the right of eminent domain allows the company to lay its mains outside the in corporated boroughs the plans call for a plant of large size where the manufacture of gas can be economically made and from which a sufficient supply may be obtained to guarantee the beet service obtainable the most approved and modern machin ery will be installed to insure the least possible cost in manufacture and to pro duce the very best quality of gab for the purposes desired mr swartley pledges a good product at a reasonable hgnre having made a study of gas manufacture he is pusitive in his claim that the plant will be a paying one even with a moderate price asked for service labor javine and money saving machinery will alnne be installed and with a large central plant and a thickly settled section of country he is most sanguine of the results large mains will be laid in this eee . tion of country with a view of supply ing the gas inqtiantities to every house desiring the connection for fuel a bpecial stove will be sold by the com pany and connection with the main will be made at no expense whatever the only charge being for the stove which will be reasonable and a nominal price for the gas consumed for illuminat ing purposeb the charge will be the same nominal rate and mr swartley claims that after a household has once experienced the convenience of using gas for fuel and light there will be a large demand for the service respecting the outlook for a franchise in ambler mr swartley said the com pany would not antagonize existing light companies but would be pleased to consider a transfer of the plant he further added the gas company means to build and the field in ambjer may be taken in later if the franchise is not obtainable at the present time glenside and around jacob kox 1 us » nt>\v barber dl b 0 i'lull returned home lift iviik from a trip to vol xx.-no o ambler pa july 17 1002 1.25 a year will have gas to burn plans of the north penn gas pany com holil cbmun < imiliic valuable rn>|1(,r • y in llnckn and montgomery coiiiitlek would locate hunt nt fo representatives of the newly charter ed north penn gas company were in ambler monday evening and assured a gazette representative that the company means to ro abend with their plans aad build a plant to supply the towns of fort washington aniblpr i'enllyn gwynedd friends corner and north wales with gas for fuel and illuminating purposes in addition to this a company in sympathy with and in fact indentical to tfie i'orth penn . ias company has secured valuable fran chisee covering nearly all the towns in bucks county ihe incorporates of the company are henry r swartley km»ry p dav joseph frankinh and john krankish as soon as the desired franchises can be becured a recapitalization of the com pany will be made and an election of permanent officers will be held a survey of this section has been com pleted and mr swartley said monday evening they would be compelled to locate their plant at fort washington that place being the lowest point in al titude of all the towns they desired to reach the ground has been looked over and the survey provides for a line of pipe through fort washington up the pike to ambler thence to penllyn to gwynedd out to friends corner and then up the sumnevtown pike to north wales in which borough they already have secured the needed franchise the right of eminent domain allows the company to lay its mains outside the in corporated boroughs the plans call for a plant of large size where the manufacture of gas can be economically made and from which a sufficient supply may be obtained to guarantee the beet service obtainable the most approved and modern machin ery will be installed to insure the least possible cost in manufacture and to pro duce the very best quality of gab for the purposes desired mr swartley pledges a good product at a reasonable hgnre having made a study of gas manufacture he is pusitive in his claim that the plant will be a paying one even with a moderate price asked for service labor javine and money saving machinery will alnne be installed and with a large central plant and a thickly settled section of country he is most sanguine of the results large mains will be laid in this eee . tion of country with a view of supply ing the gas inqtiantities to every house desiring the connection for fuel a bpecial stove will be sold by the com pany and connection with the main will be made at no expense whatever the only charge being for the stove which will be reasonable and a nominal price for the gas consumed for illuminat ing purposeb the charge will be the same nominal rate and mr swartley claims that after a household has once experienced the convenience of using gas for fuel and light there will be a large demand for the service respecting the outlook for a franchise in ambler mr swartley said the com pany would not antagonize existing light companies but would be pleased to consider a transfer of the plant he further added the gas company means to build and the field in ambjer may be taken in later if the franchise is not obtainable at the present time glenside and around jacob kox 1 us » nt>\v barber dl b 0 i'lull returned home lift iviik from a trip to
