As a yearly custom the churches ot the community in Whitem.arsh and Plymouth townships join in the eve¬ ning before Thanksgiving day In a ¦nion service. Plymouth Meeting E. C. church, Plymouth Centre Union mis¬ sion, Cold Point Baptist ehureh and St. Peter's I-ulheran church of Bar¬ ren HIU join In the service of Thanks¬ giving. Their congregations attend and the pastors will all take a part in the serviee. The service wps held in Cold Point Baptist church at 7.45 on 'Wednesday evening. As us¬ ual, a visiting pastor presided. Rev. H. M, Bower, pastor of St. Peter's church, preached the sermon. Rev. B. P. Gieseke, of Plymouth Meeting church, offered prayer. Rev. Richmond Taylor of Cold Point, gave the invo¬ cation and benediction. Me.osrs. Car- «<ln and Ewing, leaders of Plymouth Centre Union mission, also had a part in the program. Mr. and Mrs. AVilliam H. Lyons, who summered with the latter's par¬ ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Phipps, of Plymouth Meeting, left last week and are reported to have arrived In Pen- sacol.a, Florida, where they will re¬ main for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Phipps nnd fam¬ ily, of Plymouth Meeting, will lepve Friday for the south, where they will spend the winter In New Orle.ins and Florida. Mrs. Daniel Armstrong hns return¬ ed from Chestnut Hill hospital, where she underwent a minor operation and is doing nicely at her home In Har¬ monville. The Ladles' Aid Soeiety, of Ply¬ mouth Meeting E. C. church, h.ive splendid plans ready for the bazaar to be held on Friday and Saturday eve¬ nings of next week in the Sunday fichool room. This fine animal weighing lo 1-2 11m. captured not only the first prize in Its cla-ss, but was awarded the cup fov best Flemish Giant in the show and the handsome trophy as the finest rab¬ bit in the show, among a competition of more than 250. Mr. Ambler show...i several other Flemish Giant rabbits and won flrst wilh a Gray Flemish doe and second best Flemish doe in Ihe Bhow, All public schools in Plymouth and ¦miUemarsh townships closed this Wednesday afternoon for the Thanks¬ giving holidays and will reopen al the usual hour on Monday morning. Gieseke, of Plymouth Meeiing, will spend Thanks¬ giving day with Mr. Gleseke's mother. Mrs. Sara Gieseke, In Bethlehem. Mi.ss Elizabeth Lightkep, of Ply¬ mouth Centre, is making slow but yery encouraging recovery from her Injur¬ ies sustained when struck by an au¬ tomobile on the evening of October ¦28, and Is now able to be out of bei and to walk about the house. She sus¬ tained several broken ribs, severe bruis¬ es and shock, whleh hns affected her nervous system and heart. Though better, it -will be eome time before sho will recover strength to return to her high school activities. Sermons of Pastor Richmon Tayjor dm-ing Sunday's services in Cold Point Baptist church were topics of thanks¬ giving. The morning theme, "True Thanksgiving," was selected frcm tho second vrese of the ICOth PsaJm, "what shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits." The evening theme waa entitled "The Lay to bie Glad." Rev, Taylor's message was the joy of prosperity and the joy ot belief in the Irord in time of sorrow. The text w.a.s from Ezekiel vil: 1-14. Next Sunday afternoon, it was announced, the conKregation of the church are invited to lead in the sei-vicas at the county jail in Nor¬ ristown at 3 p. m. The SuntUiy school department hus begun arrangements lor the Christmas cantata. A variety ot entertainment will be staged in Cold I'oint church hall Fri¬ day evening, December 6, for the bene¬ fit of the church. Messrs. Slingiuff and Allison, who nre ever interested in the church activities will conduct the play. Communion services were conduc.ted both Sunday morning and evening in Plynioulh Meeting E. C. church- In tho moming the pastor, Rev. B. T. Gie.seke preached a sermon ot th.anks- giving "We Thank Thee, Father," and later conducted communion. Presiding Elder J. S. Heissler conducted the evening service and administered com¬ munion. His sermon was well receiv¬ ed. ISO were presesnt in Sunday school in the morning. Collection was $12.33. There were i> visitors. Men'* Bible cl.ass .and Mrs. Thomas Young's class won the Ijanners. On Monday evening tlie Men's Bible class held their regular meeting at the home of Jease Store in Gulph.
