live topics oi discussion in thli community ii the proposed trolley line from ambler to ftorrlstown litre area fi'w opinions canght by q reporters : mr c v bergner in reply to your micrv i beg leave to say i bid opposed to toe trolley from ambler to norrfrtown qeotsg v helling — it would be i good thing inii lei the route !»¦ by w»y of brood axe nine hell and centre square william ('. walker ye«i i'm in favor ni it it would be a great convenience to the people of thin community william l>uffy — it would bring a great deal of trade to ambler thai now gon elsewhere the people of plymouth want the line john d cooper — it would boom amb ler at nothing else has done since the borough wus chartered benjamin p wertsner — the trolley would be a rood thins for ambler hut might take some business away e h faust — it would be very handy but would not pay financially people would buy in the county scut am op posed to the use of the public roads or such purposes h s copp — fora while people would go to norristown to buy but after they compared prices the trolley would do the town good a b still wagon — the trolley would be a good thing for ambler and is bound to come it would bring jieople here to spend money john 1 iloughton the connection of ambler with norrietown would be the molt important one for ambler that could be made i will not say that it would pay george schafenaoker — am in favor of nnything that would develop the town the trolley would take a few persons away but it would bring more into ambler thomas bitting — i'm a trolley man from the top of my head to the soles of myfeet eminent domain is needed wm c blackburn — hope it will be for the best am always in favor of bor ough improvements dr albanus styer — am opposed to it will take trade away from ambler should not be allowed to run on the public roads albert beck — i'm a trolley man through and through will favor any thing to bring them to ambler or to help along prosperity j w craft — the trolley will be a public improvement and will bring more people and trade here than it will take to the county seat joseph haywood — will not be indent ified with any trolley whereby the pub lic highways are monopolized the trol ley company should buy its right of way as do steam roads dr r v mattison — i am in favor of any and all additional means of trans portation whether steam electric or muscular as in the bicycle for ambler as every additional facility for locomo tion increases the growth of the borough the money subscribed to the building of the line and tor its equipment will prob ably be a generous contribution to the public welfare as it is quite unlikely that any dividend will be paid at any time in the near future should the line be built judging from the usual inter est shown in the borough in matters of a public nature requiring liberal sub scriptions it is not likely tbat the pro rosed trolley will eet much beyond the pale of talk which is cheap the actual operation of the trolley line would bo a bad thing for the storekeepers of amb ler and a good thing for the citizens of our borough but nh it is not at all prob able that the line will be built it is not necessary at present to consider the mat ter seriously thomas kose — am anxious to have the trolley conic it will be for the best interests of the town h s nash — it would take business away from the town at first would be very handy for the people d"r c b hough i'm in favor of the trolley extension to norristown joseph s angeny — at first people would be taken away to do business but afterwards the trolley would help busi ness am in favor john s buchanan the trolley would be a great convenience and be a great aid to the town george av niblock — it is a good thing the people taken away to do business would not amount to a great deal and those brought here would more than counterbalance william smith — am in for improve ment the trolley would improve the town and would be very handy k l tyson — trolley system is one of i lie progressive features of the age the volume of business in ambler would be partly absorbed by norristown bees 0 roberto am favorable would like to see lines on each side of the store the extra people brought hero would more than compensate for the small per centage taken away 11 ('. isiddle the trolley would im prove the town it would enliven busi ness besides being a
