Guth's Station Mar.8, 87 Mr. Kern Esteemed Friend Your welcome missive reached me the other day as I was coming home. The way you informed me you misunderstood the meaning of that hint. Well it is no wonder too! Hope you will pardon me for it, as I probably thought it would be needless to tell you, hence the delay. I was not aware of the facts until some time ago. I was told that I had to be careful or else I would get some of those Mts. Folk's in my wool, that you had a (special friend) up there; and that she was passing some very suspicious remarks. I then asked them to explain themselves, that I was ignorant of it. I thought if such really would be the case, you would tell me; being I told you that if any time you would feel like going for some other party, you should do so; and just leave me know, for I wouldn't like to detain you, so you can imagine that I felt somewhat slighted about it, as I don't like the idea of such a thing as this. So you can continue in giving your attentions to that friend up there, I have nothing to say. With regards do I send these lines to you; but you know that circumstances alter cases. "Good name in man and woman is the immediate jewel of their souls." Shakespeare I claimed you as one of my nearest and best friends, and I hope the same friendship shall exist between you and me in the future time as it did in the past. I remain still your friend Rosa Oils uocf drin fraim
