At home Aug. 21, 81 Dear Cousin Mr. Sam J. Kern Content noted with pleasure to write a letter to you to let you know that I am well at present. Further I let you know that mother is stiff this beautiful morning. They want to come up on a visit yesterday eve. But they can't come while my mother was stiff now they will come next Saturday eve. If nothing will happen. O I was very sorry that I could not go with one excursions either with the Seigersville or yours. O I meant I must go along but it couldn't be, I was on a picnic 20 Aug. but it was not a very pleasant time for me I had not very much fun that day. My letter came on Thursday foreman Mr. Riechel brought it along that was our plea while he wants to bring them along, my engagement is not as it was before this the last letter. Excuse me I have to stop I got a visitor I have to close my letter by saying "good bye". From your cousin C.J. Wenner Remember me when far away and only half awake.
